Spotlight on the Central Coast is a personal project to highlight some of the amazing locations we have here on The Coast, from beaches to National Parks. The Central Coast of NSW is a fabulous place to live and visit all year round. I hope you enjoy my videos of some of the popular, as well as hidden gems, it has to offer. Drop back periodically as I update with new videos.
Shelly beach is a great beach for surfing and swimming. Patrolled all summer long there is a cafe, restaurant and off leash dog walking section. The sand dunes that back this long, perfect stretch of golden sand paint the perfect scene making the beach feel remote and wild, whilst having all the amenities you could ask for. Backed by Shelly Beach Golf Club and the Blue lagoon Resort it's little wonder why it is one of the most popular beaches here on The Central Coast.
Avoca Beach is a favourite with locals and visitors alike. From the beautiful safe rockpool at one end for the little ones to the lake at the other there is something here for everyone. The beach is fully patrolled and you should definitely swim between the flags as there are some strong rips here at the beach. You can't beat a surf in the waters here, the famous Avoca Beach surf break has seen the creation, and demise, of many a surf champion. Grab your board and hit the waves!
The surf club offers unparalleled views for dining on the long summer evenings along with plenty more eatery options scattered throughout the township. Avoca Markets are another popular event here on the coast and see people travel from miles around to purchase handcrafted items eat delicious local food and socialise, responsibly, with friends at the large, open plan, market area.
Killcare and Putty Beach really has it all. Nestled into Bouddi National Park with restaurants, cafes, incredible bush walks patrolled beach, sailing and even sea plane trips connecting to this idyllic spot al combine together to make this corner of the Coast true perfection.
Ettalong is something else! Unrivalled for families with its safe calm, warm waters, easy accessibility for swimming and fishing and it's excellent facilities. There are restaurants and cafes, the most incredible Sicillian bakery at La Galleria - something quite unique and deserves to be discovered. Only a 30 minute ferry ride from (or to) Palm Beach on the Northern Beaches but a world away!
